A Vision for the Glory of God

The Vision: To be a people that is radically pursuing the glory of God through; compassion, bravery, diligence, and perseverance.

Being a radical group of people:

• If we are true Christians, then we are already a peculiar people!
• If we are true Christians, we have already been called to a different life!
• If we are true Christians, then God is calling us to be radical for a specific reason!

For the glory of God:

• We must be satisfied in God.
• Our lives will glorify God, the question is; is it due to our pliability or because He broke us.
• Living for the glory of God is one in the same as living for our own joy!

This is then expressed in four ways:

• Compassion:
  • This is how we show true love, one to another.
  • This hurts, sometimes more than you can imagine!
  • True love speaks the truth no matter what!  
• Bravery:
  • This is how we show our devotion to God.
  • There is a mean streak in Christianity, meanness against ourselves!
  • The alternative is living a “Luke-warm” life.
• Diligence:
  • This is how we show our love for others.
  • True love fights for the one that it loves!
  • This means that we will be willing to fight even ourselves for the sake of others.
• Perseverance:
  • This is how we have assurance of our own salvation.
  • “He who perseveres to the end shall be saved”
  • Perseverance is the only Christian virtue that can’t be faked!
