We at Calvary Baptist have been in some precarious circumstances over the last few years. The infamous hurricanes of ’04 left our worship center practically destroyed. Through great perseverance and determination, the church's interior is “like new”. New drywall, paint, and carpet, are all just a few of the improvements that the church has completed.
The new roof was the first thing done, and what a task that was. With the roof at a 12/12 pitch, a perfect 45 degree angle, it was a bear to re-shingle.
The inside originally was all dark brown. Brown ceiling tiles, brown walls, brown floors… well you get the point. The new drywall was painted a beautiful soft yellow and the new burgundy carpet makes the church into a warm and inviting place.
We’re not done yet though. We may have the worship center all finished up, but we are determined to revive these 1914 grounds . We have been around fort 96 years and if the Lord tarries, we want to make it at least another 96.
Though we have been around for many years, there is something going on that’s not that old. We have a new pastor and he is looking to shake not only the neighborhood up, but also the entire Daytona Beach area.
Won’t you come and join us this Sunday to enjoy not only the newly renovated facilities, but also the worship of our great God.
We hope to see you there!
